Thick Agricultural Tubing
At Production Cutting Services, we have the ability to cut tubing with walls up to .625” thick using advanced 3D laser cutting equipment. The part shown here is a structural component that is laser cut from an 80” length of 7” square tubing with a 0.5” wall thickness. Our Mazak FG 300 is a very high capacity cutting system, especially among 3D laser cutting machines, and allows us to process raw materials that many customers don’t expect to be candidates for laser cutting.
Our process development team is always evaluating and comparing manufacturing technologies to ensure customers receive premium quality parts at the best price possible. For example, this component could have been machined, but given the part features and production volume, in this case, laser cutting was determined to be more efficient. We produce approximately 500 of these parts per year for our customer in the agricultural equipment industry.
